Newest Team Member
We are excited to announce the newest addition to our Forest City Family. She loves long walks, lots of cuddles, and has four paws. Lally is our adopted service puppy who is part of National Service Dogs. She is busy learning lots of new skills, in hopes to become a companion for an individual with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or Autism Spectrum Disorder.
In 1996, National Service Dogs pioneered the program of breeding, training and placing certified service dogs with children with autism. Over the last 18 years, NSD has graduated over 350 Certified Service Dog Teams, helped many service dog organizations around the world start their own autism programs, and has started three new programs: Certified Service Dogs for PTSD, Canine Assisted Intervention and Companion Dog Services. We are thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful program.
Lally is working on her sign language learning lots of new skills at puppy class. She is fluent in many other languages, from body language, to heart melting eye contact, her go to language is puppy love. Lally loves long walks on the beach, but after a busy day, she enjoys cuddling up on your lap, listening to your stories and chilling out to slow jazz before bed.
If Lally can master the art of puppy meditation, we will be happy to invite her into your therapeutic hour. I know she will be a great therapy dog as she seems to put a smile on the faces of everyone she meets. Her favorite memories are when she visits the staff in the hospital, or the residents of a nearby nursing home. No one is a stranger to her, as she makes everyone feel like an old friend.
Lally is wise beyond her years. She seems to teach us more about ourselves every day, by mirroring our behaviour and responding to our every action and emotion. She is a gift in this world, and we are so inspired to learn from her.
We can’t wait for you to meet her too!
